IC is the abbreviation of Industry Canada, which is responsible for the certification of electronic and electrical products entering the Canadian market. The scope of its controlled products includes: radio and television equipment, information technology equipment, radio equipment, telecommunications equipment, engineering and medical equipment, etc. IC currently only has mandatory requirements for electromagnetic interference. Therefore, IC certification is a passport for electronic and electrical products to enter the Canadian market.
As a government agency, it stipulates the testing standards for analog and digital terminal equipment, is responsible for the certification of electronic and electrical products entering the Canadian market, and stipulates that imported electronic products must pass EMC certification.
The products it is responsible for are roughly radio and television equipment, information technology equipment, radio equipment, telecommunications equipment, industrial and medical equipment, etc. Similar to the US FCC, IC currently only imposes restrictions on electromagnetic interference.
General regulations: Only EMI is mandatory, and the certification method is the same as the FCC. Three methods of self-verification, compliance, and certification can be used.
IC ID: CN (Company Number, up to 6 digits) + UPW (UniqLle Product Number, up to 8 digits) Free application, but must have Canadian representative address information.
